Conference on Low-mass stars and brown dwarfs

On October 17 - 19, 2004, a Conference on Low-mass stars and brown dwarfs: IMF, accretion and activity will be held at Volterra, an ancient etrurian city in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. The pre-registration deadline is April 30, 2004.

The 2004 ACM International Conference on Computing Frontiers - CF04, s planned for April 14, 15, 16, 2004 on the island of Ischia Italy. The conference specializes in those technologies on the frontier of computing and that will one day meet the needs of the most demanding applications, but authors are invited to submit papers on all aspects of innovative computing systems. Early registration is due by March 17th, 2004.

The Starburst 2004 conference will be held in in Cambridge, UK, Monday 6 - Friday 10 September 2004.

This conference aims at bringing together scientists (observers, theorists and modelers) studying starbursts at a range of scales, from small-scale, localized starbursts such as seen in the 30 Doradus region in the Large Magellanic Cloud, through relatively nearby galaxy-wide starbursts and interactions such as observed in, e.g., M82 and the Antennae galaxies, to their high-redshift counterparts, in particular the Lyman break galaxies.

The 5th INTEGRAL workshop will take place in Munich from February 16 - 20, 2004 in the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. The main goals of the 5th INTEGRAL workshop "The INTEGRAL Universe" are to present and discuss the scientific results obtained by INTEGRAL and co-ordinated observations with other observatories and spacecraft instruments during the 1st year of nominal mission operations. SIRTF Observation Planning Workshop

Following an initial in-orbit checkout and science validation period, SIRTF is scheduled to begin normal operations in early December 2003. The first General Observer Call for Proposals has been issued, and the deadline for proposal submission is currently 14 February 2004.
The SSC is sponsoring 3 workshops in January 2004 to support observers with their proposal preparation (at ESTEC in The Netherlands; at the AAS in Atlanta, GA; and at the University of Sydney, Australia - see here for more information on all of these workshops). The registration deadline is Dec. 15th 2003.
