The Linux Kernel version 4 hass been released. It brings many features including live patching, Radeon DisplayPort Audio, RadeonSI fan control improvements, new OverlayFS functionality, Intel Quark SoC support, and a lot more.
The Debian Astronomy Working Group aims to package and maintain astronomy related software for the Debian/GNU operating system. We are planning a (one-day) debian-astro sprint at the DebCamp in Heidelberg, 14 August 2015. Debian "sprints" are developer meetings to work on specific parts and having fun doing so.
OpenBSD 5.7 was released on May 1, 2015. There are some big changes From previous versions: for instance the nginx httpd server was removed in favor of an internally developed httpd server, BIND (named) was retired in favor of nsd and unbound.
